HAPPY NEW YEAR from Anthony Merante Beauty!
January 4, 2012Worlds BEST Facialist!
October 19, 2011I thought I would share a little secret of mine. Her name is Tussanee and she is the one responsible for making my skin look and feel 17 again. Tussanee at Integrity Skin is by far the BEST facialist I have EVER been to. I’ve tried them all, Face Place, Sonia Dakar, you name it. They have all been great, but Tussanee is the only person I will trust my skin too. Her facials are so good, I almost don’t even need any retouching! LOL
If you are looking for an excuse to spoil your self. Make an appointment ASAP and tell her I sent you, you will not be disappointed. As well as facials, Tussanee at Integrity Skin also does the most beautiful eye lash extensions and spray tan’s. Integrity Skin is conveniently located in Pasadena.
LaMer & Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October 7, 2011I was out shopping the other night for things I do not need like black shirts and grey pants and I decided to stock up on some of my favorite Lip Balm from LaMer.
I couldn’t have been happier to learn that LaMer is donating $10 to breast cancer research for each lip balm sold during the month of October. This is by far my personal beauty must have as I never leave home with out it!

Product of the week: MAC Viva Glam Lip Glass
May 15, 2011I have not done a product of the week in a while now so I thought I would review a few great lip glosses!
MAC Cosmetics has recently launched a lipglass and lipstick called “GAGA 2″ The shade is sort of a brownish, peachy beige. Not exactly an easy color for everyone to wear, but I really like this lip glass paired with a pink lip liner like Dervish, also from MAC Cosmetics.
Every cent of the selling price of MAC VIVA GLAM lipstick and lipglass is donated to the MAC AIDS fund. For more information visit www.macaidsfund.org
The MAC AIDS fund has raised over 200 Million since it was established in 1994.

4: Josie Maran Beauty in a box is a great gift with mini versions of some of Josie Maran Cosmetics best sellers and some of my personal faves. The kit comes with Lipstick, Liner, Gloss, 100% Argan oil and a few other great items.

Breast Cancer PSA with Fran Visco
October 22, 2010October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and they are celebrating 25 years of Awareness, Education and Empowerment. America’s Next Top Model Cycle 15 Episode 2
October 6, 2010On September 15th an episode of America’s Next Top Model Cycle 15 aired that I did the makeup for. The episode was about teen bullying and I ended up missing the episode when it aired but later watched it on iTunes. With all the recent teen suicides in the news as of late, this episode of ANTM could not have come at a better time. Teen bullying is a serious issue right now and I am glad that an entertainment show about modeling can help shed light on this issue.
The episode was shot by photographer Deborah Anderson at Smashbox Studios in West Hollywood. The shoot was 60′s inspired so for makeup, I created a different eye makeup look for each model. I really had to be creative with each model, because 60′s eye makeup is very distinct with the strong lines and cat like eyes. I used a total of 48 pairs of eyelashes that day and some models had 5 or 6 pairs at a time. Each model had a negative word painted on there body that they were called as a teen like Lanky, Queer or Stupid and they also had a positive word written on them as well like Beautiful, Smart of Free to name just a few.

Sun Tanning and After Care Tips
July 16, 2010I think it is safe to say that June Gloom is finally behind us here in LA and I spent most of my day laying in my pool thinking about what I was going to write this evening. Summer is all about the beach, family vacations, pool parties and getting that perfect bikini bod.
I am a huge advocate of sunscreen, even when I am laying by the pool or at the beach in Malibu trying to get the deepest darkest tan possible, I wear a SPF15 on my body and a SPF60 on my face. I reapply both of these several times during the day. SPF is short for Sun Protection Factor and means wearing a sunscreen with SPF50, your skin will not burn until it has been exposed to 50 times the amount of solar energy that would normally cause the skin to burn. It is really important for your sunscreen to also offer both UVA and UVB protection. For a great article and more information about sunscreen go to this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunscreen
Some sunscreens that I use personally and recommend are Ultra Sensitive Faceblock SPF25 from Dermalogica, Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion and Neutrogena Ultimate Sport SPF70 Sunblock Spray.
After a day at the beach, it is really important to make sure your skin is moisturized. The sun, chlorine and salt water remove the moisture from the skin causing us to have ashy and dull looking skin. The skin can even crack and blister from over exposure. After your shower, make sure you moisturize your skin with a body cream. Some of my favorites are the Body Hydrating Cream from Dermalogica, Lait-Creme Fluide from Embryolisse and Daily Replenishing Lotion from Eucerin. Apple liberally to body immediately after your shower on a damp body.
Have a fun and safe Summer.
