I have been saying for over a year now that I am going to make “How To” videos for my blog. Well the day finally happened last Thursday. It was a very long day of shooting and the fact that I had little to no sleep the night before didn’t exactly make it a easy day. But the videos will be up starting in early to mid October and they came out beautifully.
I want to send a quick shout out to my VERY awesome assistants Andrew and Brithney who did everything I needed to get through the day. Also want to thank Rafael Bekor at Lightbox Studios for his amazing photography and studio space. “It was like shooting in heaven”
Last but not least, I want to thank Michelle Orrego. If it wasn’t for her, these videos would have never been made and I look forward to creating MANY more. Thanks for the push Michelle! 🙂
I hope these “Behind The Scenes” images are enough to hold you over!
Congratulations to LORETTA DEVINE for her win at the  63rd Primetime Emmy Awards last night. She took home the trophy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama for her role on Grey’s Anatomy playing Adele Webber. Loretta’s dress was designed by Angela Dean and she looked stunning!
Check out this gorgeous image from my beauty shoot with Giuliano Bekor last spring. We had a very brave model who let us glue dried butterflies to her face. This shot is definitly one of my favorite images from 2011 so far! All MAC Cosmetics were used in this image. To recreate this look use MAC PRO Pigment in Old Gold, MAC Eye Kohl in Smolder and MAC Lustreglass in Flashmode!
Check back soon for my Fall 2011 Beauty MUST HAVES and looks!
I was browsing the internet tonight looking for a release date for Disney’s A.N.T. Farm star China Anne McClain’s NEW song called “Calling all the monsters” and I found this very cool behind the scenes video. I got to glam China Anne for this video and the makeup look is ELECTRIFYING to say the least!
Calling all the monsters song will premier on Radio Disney tomorrow September 9th at 4pm and the video drops September 18th, but in the mean time, check out this great teaser below.
Christian Dior introduces Velvet Eyes! What are they you ask? They are stick on eyeliner decals in 4 different designs! I just love the idea of stick on eyeliner and can not wait to try these out at my next beauty shoot. The set comes with 4 designs and 2 are adorned with Swarovski Crystals.
Velvet Eyes will be available tonight at the NYC Dior Boutique in honor of Fashion’s Night Out and then available exclusively at Sephora September 16th.
Face: I first prepped and primed Alejandra’s skin with Dermalogica Active Moist Moisturizer and added a few drops of the Skin Hydrating Booster and let it soak into the skin for a few minutes. I applied a few drops of MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Invisible Coverage Foundation in shade 155 (Medium Beige) all over face and blended with a Beauty Blender Sponge. The foundation was set in the T Zone with MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Microfinish Powder. I lightly contoured and bronzed the face with my “Secret Bronzer” and then highlighted the cheek bones, bridge of nose and chin with the Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight powder.
I am obsessed at the moment with this beautiful Highlighting Creme Duo from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I already have 12 creme highlighters in my kit as I write this post, but I just couldn’t pass up this gorgeous duo that I saw at Sephora. The packaging alone is stunning but the product inside is like no other highlighter I have ever used before. The package houses a creme highlighter in the bottom section and a creme blush in the top. I have used this product on my last few shoots and the results have been amazing! The models skin had a lit from within radiant glow and everyone was asking what I used.
I use this product 2 different ways. Apply highlighter to cheek bones, bridge of nose, forehead and chin to bare skin and then apply your cream, liquid or powder foundation on top  for an all over luminous glow. Or you can mix a pearl sized amount with your foundation. Either way, you will be glowing for hours! Next, apply the creme cheek color to the apple of the cheeks and you are ready to go! For Light skin, try Aspen and for Medium to Tan Skin, try St. Tropez.
Who doesn’t love a shopping spree at Target? Check out this cute cover of the August Issue of Target magazine. Shot by Bonnie Holland and hair and makeup by me!
For the September issue of Marie Claire Latin America, I did a beauty story of  makeup trends from the fall 2011 runways. Raquel Olivo shot the spread nd Benjamin Mohapi did the hair for this story. All of these looks were created using MAKE UP FOR EVER available at www.Sephora.com
One of my faithful followers has requested I do a post on shampoo. Now, I am not a hair stylist, but since I have been growing my hair out and I work often with Paul Mitchell. I thought I would share with you a few of my favorite shampoos. First one is Tea Tree Shampoo from Paul Mitchell. I use this shampoo & conditioner daily and I just love the smell of it. The Tea Tree, Lavender  and Peppermint Oil leave my hair and scalp feeling refreshed. This shampoo washes away impurities and leaves you with fresh clean hair and is safe for all hair types. For best results, finish with the Tea Tree Special Conditioner.
My other favorite line from Paul Mitchell is the Awapuhi Wild Ginger. This luxury shampoo  and conditioner are  100% sulfate free and gently hydrates and protects your color. This shampoo is packed with Keratin proteins which rebuilds and repairs dry damaged hair. The scent of this shampoo is amazing and it lathers up like no other shampoo I have used before. Again, for best results follow with the Keratin Cream Rinse.
